The Major gods
Thus it came to be that the offspring of Tirichron and Xylion people the world
of Xyllomer today. These youthful beings spread out across the globe and populated
every part of the world within a few millenia of the creation.
It came to be that Tharandil took a consort from among the Ancient Ones and his name
was Dualdin; the wise, the wild, Father of the Elven Peoples and Lord of Forests.
His skin was green as the leaves of spring and upon his brow he wore the antlers of a stag,
the animal that he chose as his symbol.
His pleasure was the peace of the forests and the delight of nature and from his loins came
the seed that grew inside Tharandil to become Lythiriel; the huntress, Lady of Rain, of the
Elves and patron goddess of the Moon. Dualdin is himself often depicted wearing furs,
sometimes with cloven hooves, wearing an emerald pendant around his neck.
Although his sister chose a consort from among the immortals, older than time,
this was not to Rokoon's liking. Instead he chose one of the eldest daughters of
Tirichron and Xylion as his concubine. She was the most powerful of her siblings,
maiden leader of the small people under the mountains and her name was Swarnigul,
maiden of the underdark, the white-skinned and Mother of the Dwarven Peoples.
Her beauty was legendary, her skin as fair as creamy milk and her dark eyes deep
beyond reason or thought. Her first-born combined her own dark-seeing eyes and
pale skinned physical beauty with the powerful strength of Rokoon and his name was
Kaldaan; the maker of artifacts, Lord of the Forge and of Fire, patron of the Mountain regions.
To Bhaal it seemed that his brother had the best of everything and thus it was that he
resolved to cuckold his brother and have the joy of his concubine for his own.
It became that he drew his nightblack cloak about himself and spirited himself unto
Rokoon's halls where at that time Xylion was also residing and in the darkness that
was his ally, he hid the way from Rokoon and sent him unto Xylion, his own sister.
Bhaal watched there in the shadows until the act was consumated, with his cloak of
darkness cast about the proceedings that neither might know what they did. And of
that fated meeting there was issue, as the seed of Rokoon and Tirichron met in the
belly of Xylion and the name of that child was Huitzilopochtli; eater of hearts, destroyer
of the innocent, Lord of Life-Blood shed in Sacrifice and of Lightning, Master of Terror
in all forms. And Bhaal rejoiced, for his was not to know that he had caused to be sown
the seeds of his own greatest enemies.
For as the meeting of three gods in utero, Huitzilopochtli was to become a being of
extreme power. Rejected by all of his parents as the object of deception, he was to
develop an intense hatred not only of them, but of Bhaal for his part in the creation
of a bastard child without love. His was to become a reign of terror and a quest for
power and conquest where he vowed he would see all who stood against him bent
backwards over the altar before he surveyed the world that he now owned.
And once he had watched the act, Bhaal went unto the chambers of Rokoon and veiling
the eyes of Swarnigul with illusion he consumated his lust upon her flesh. And of that
meeting also there was issue and the name of their child was Calric; the long-fingered,
patron of deception, Father of the Gnomen Peoples and Lord of Invention and Illusion.
Calric was nimble in mind and of fingers although stunted in his growth. Unlike his
half-brother Kaldaan he lacked the dignity and grace of his mother and was rather a
creature of the shadows. Although like his father in this, he grew not into a creature
of darkness, but only dabbled in such allowing his followers to follow their interests
where others cast from them those who betrayed an interest in the darker arts.
The time came to pass when within Xylion the seed of her true husband Tirichron came
unto being and his name was Moran; mighty bearer of arms, Guerradon and Lord of the
Battlefield.
He was a mighty hero among men and the fine subject of bardic lais until he rose from
the mortal coils to take his godhead. Although entirely human in his semblance, his size
was that of a giant, which many legends refer to. He is often shown bareheaded with black
curls and spice-blue eyes, bearing in one hand a giant greatsword and on the other arm
a shield and wearing a suit of full platemail made entirely from platinum, a gift from Rokoon.
The twin gods of the giants are the subject of much theological discussion. Their names are:
Cragtooth Mistbrow; of the gentle touch, Lord of Medicine and of Blessed Relief from Pain
and Vulcanos; the untrue, Lord over Death in the Night and of Tricks and Mischief.
Many believe that these two are Old Ones who sided with AO when he rose up to take his
place as the Lord of the Present and between them share the title; Father of the Giant Breed.
Others believe that they are the oldest children of Xylion who crept from her womb after her
first encounter with Tirichron and fathered the race of the giants.
